If you have ever seen Muse live or even on YouTube, you have to admit that they really know how to put on a good show. Blazing guitar riffs, the band’s onstage antics, and Daft Punk/Pink Floydish light shows are what makes them one of the most entertaining live shows around. However, back in 2001 while on their Origin of Symmetry tour, they didn’t have access to most of the awesome stage effects they have now. With this in mind, they had to set the bar pretty high with what little they had. Matt Bellamy single handedly smashed 140 guitars on that tour. Yes, 140!

He is quite the architect with a guitar, so he plays a multitude of them. Back then he was known to play mostly Fenders, Gibsons, and Jacksons. These average in price anywhere between $2,000 and $3,000, so at the conclusion of this tour, Matt Bellamy had done about $350,000 in damage. Alone.

“Into this world we’re thrown like a dog without a bone, an actor out alone, riders on the storm.”

“Invisible airwaves crackle with life, bright antenna bristle with the energy. Emotional feedback on a timeless wavelength, bearing a gift beyond price, almost free.”
